Like the glass or ceramic temperature probes, the platinum film temperature probe belongs to the category of wired designs. The coil of solid platinum is embedded between two self-adhesive Polyimide films. Compensation of the platinum coil is by matching the coil length prior to joining the films. The electric properties meet those of the DIN EN 60 751 standard. Two flat nickel threads are led out for electrical connection. The film temperature probe is designed for application tolerances between -80 ... +180°C.
The platinum film temperature probe preferably permits measurements on flat or also slightly curved surfaces. The flexibility of the film and also the small height of the sensor also allows measurements on measuring points, which are difficult to access.
